When Raleigh, NC third-grader Keith Palmer didn’t get any Valentine’s Day cards during his class’s card exchange this year, he was crushed. It seemed as if Keith was going to have the worst Valentine’s Day of his young life, but then something incredible happened: His teacher gave him $40.
Wow! Absolutely heartwarming.
“Keith looked completely distraught, and I knew I needed to show him that people do care about him,” said Tara Manning, Keith’s teacher. “I didn’t have any cards to hand out, but thankfully, I remembered I had a few bucks in my wallet. I pulled him aside and slipped it into his hand, and, well, I just wish everyone could have seen the way his face lit up.”
Incredible. Keith was moments away from going back to his house, where he would have dwelled on not getting any Valentine’s Day cards from his classmates, but before that could happen, his amazing teacher took action. Two $20 bills later, his Valentine’s Day was saved.
